PASS MANCHAC LIGHTHOUSE

The PASS MANCHAC LIGHTHOUSE has stood on the northshore of Lake Ponchartrain since 1868.
|

|
Three other lighthouses preceded the present one on the same spot.
|
|
The first built in 1837, the second built in 1846 and the third built in 1857. The 1857 lighthouse was destroyed during the war between the states. The top of the 1868 Pass Manchac Lighthouse was recently saved, and is now on display on Louisiana Highway 22 in downtown Ponchatoula, Louisiana. (Photo Below)
